The 21st anniversary of NATO aggression against Serbia and Montenegro

21 years ago, on this day of March 24th, 1999, NATO forces started a three month bombing campaign over Serbian soil. The campaign was designed to destroy Yugoslav air defences and high-value military targets. However, as we know, NATO bombed hospitals, bridges (one was hit when a passenger train was passing over resulting in 13 confirmed deaths and 16 wounded, with at least 20 people still counting as missing), factories, power stations, telecommunications facilities, the Avala TV Tower, headquarters of the Radio Television of Serbia, the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade...

Criminals of NATO alliance:  Wesley Clarck, Javier Solana and Richard Holbrooke

Even though these actions violated international law and the Geneva Conventions, NATO was never held responsible as they claimed these targets were potentially useful to the Yugoslav military and thus their bombing was justified.

NATO's bombing of Yugoslavia was conducted without the approval of the United Nations Security Council. It was a violation of international law, the United Nations charter and its own article 1, which requires NATO to settle any international disputes by peaceful means and not to threaten or use force, "in any manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations."

The "justified reason" for proceeding with the operation Noble Anvil was genocide committed by Serbs against Albanians in Kosovo. It is interesting that the UN tribunal indictment of Milosevic of May 1999, cites only one incident of deaths before the bombing -- the infamous Racak incident -- which itself is challenged by French journalists who were on the ground there and suspect a frame-up involving US General Walker who sounded the alarm. Of course, the Racak case was staged by the Albanians with the help of American experts for covert operations and it was only the last in a long line of recognizable scenarios already seen in separatist armed rebellions throughout the former Yugoslavia. Years after the bombing, it was revealed that the true Finnish forensic experts’ report on Racak was hidden in the vaults of ICTY and it reported that “Serb forces did not commit a massacre in that Kosovo village”.

The damage was already done. Not only that the bombing resulted in many civilian victims, but it also resulted in an ecocide not even of a regional, but of a planetary scale. "The bombings were carried out absolutely deliberately, and pursued certain goals. Kosovo is a geographical phenomenon, as rivers originating in this region flow into three seas - the Aegean, the Black and the Adriatic seas. Therefore, NATO used depleted uranium to bomb a small region, but managed to contaminate three seas. Those seas are connected to oceans, so it is evident that the pollution was of a planetary scale." According to military experts, about 3,000 cruise missiles were launched and 80,000 ton of various bombs were dropped, including cluster munitions and about 15 tons of depleted uranium rounds. The end result is the highest rate of malicious tumors in Europe, with more than 30,000 people diagnosed with cancer in the first 10 years since the bombing. And it still goes on.
